No. We as the IPA representative must receive your verbal approval in order to enter your qualifications into the system.
What does it mean to be entered into the IPA networking system?
It means that within about a week or less, your resumé will be sent to each and every one of the 300 or so firms in the Association employing more than 700 recruiting and placement professionals.
How will that benefit me?
Your qualifications will be matched against the thousands of job openings currently listed with member
firms. Additionally, remember that for every job advertised or listed with a member firm,
thousands more exist. IPA professionals have a broad client base nationwide and have intimate
knowledge of their client companies and their needs. Often, they help create the position in the
client company.
Does this mean that I may receive phone calls from other IPA representatives in addition to
Berkshire Search and Consulting, Inc.?
Yes. You never know which member firm has a job opening that matches your
qualifications and other
factors of your availability. Since most IPA members work a nationwide market, it greatly enhances the
probability that one or more of them can help you.
Do IPA member firms share job opening information as well as candidate information?
Absolutely. Member firms input both job orders and resumés into the network system.
Can I withdraw my qualifications from the network?
Certainly. You control that through the Association representative you are working with. It is the
responsibility of your representative to enter a withdrawal request that is sent to the entire network.
Is there a way I can limit my exposure among members within the IPA network?
Yes, you can do this through the Association representative you are working with. However, reduced
exposure reduces potential opportunity. While some members serve a regional market, most work on a
nationwide basis and may well have an opening in the geographic area of your choice.
Are there any fees I must pay to IPA or its members?
None whatsoever. Member firms including
Berkshire Search and Consulting, Inc. deal only in Employer Fee Paid positions, or they are on a
retainer by the employer, so there is no cost to the candidate. Further, member firms agree to
represent only those companies that pay all interview and relocation costs. Please remember, though,
that policies of companies vary widely in relocation costs they will absorb. As an Association member, we at
Berkshire Search and Consulting, Inc. can advise you of those details.
What do I do when a representative from another IPA member firm calls me?
A member firm
representative will identify himself and from which affiliate he received your resumé. Work with that representative as openly and honestly as you do with
Berkshire Search and Consulting, Inc..
We at Berkshire Search and Consulting, Inc. look forward to connecting you with an
excellent career opportunity!
